Read the technical breakdown and DIY guide here

If your website is more than a few years old, your blog probably has “digital dust”: odd spacing, messy headings, broken lists, missing image descriptions, and ancient copy-paste code from Word or old page builders. None of this helps readers—or Google.

Recently, we ran a full clean-up on 470 posts spanning 15 years using an AI-assisted process I built at GillyTech. A human (me) stayed in control the whole way. The result: posts that look the same, read better, and work cleaner—with far less manual effort.

The three things business owners care about

1) Better customer experience

Clean pages are easier to scan. Headings make sense. Lists are real HTML lists. Images have descriptions. Visitors stick around longer and find what they need faster.

2) Better SEO hygiene

Consistent headings, tidy links, and lightweight HTML are the basics Google expects. This isn’t “SEO magic”—it’s housekeeping that helps rankings and prevents silly technical issues from holding you back.

Often overlooked, the “alt text” on images (the description of an image in the code so those with visual disabilities can understand the meaning of the image) plays an important role in ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance.

3) Far less manual work

Doing this by hand would take weeks. Our AI does the heavy lifting, a human approves changes, and the site gets better—fast.

How it works (in plain English)

A combination of a ton of different fixes the AI made. Multiple alt tags written, arbitrary formatting removed, hotlinked external image flagged, underlines converted to italics, and punctuation fixes.
  1. We pull your posts into a queue. Think “to-do list,” not a big risky migration.
  2. AI cleans the code, not the message. It removes junk markup, fixes headings, turns fake lists into real ones, standardizes links, and adds image alt text when missing. It does not rewrite your content.
  3. Human review in a simple dashboard. You (or we) see a side-by-side diff: original text mixed with the improved text for easy comparison. Click Approve, Edit & Approve, or Reject.
  4. Only approved changes go live. No surprises. Every change is logged so you always know what happened.

Results from our latest run

  • Volume: 470 posts cleaned
  • Accuracy: ~85–90% of AI edits were “ship it” quality on the first pass
  • Speed: Now that the system is built, ~1000 posts in under a day
  • Look & feel: No visual redesign—just cleaner, more professional pages behind the scenes

What gets fixed (without changing your message)

  • Headings: Organized so pages are easy to scan
  • Lists: Bulleted/numbered lists become real lists (not dashes or weird spacing)
  • Links: Internal links are consistent; externals checked
  • Images: Missing alt text gets added for accessibility
  • Bloat: Old copy-paste junk code removed; pages stay lightweight
Fake list converted to a real HTML one

What we don’t touch

  • Your voice and meaning
  • Your shortcodes, embeds, and legitimate styling
  • Your brand look

This is a polish and repair, not a rewrite.

When this is worth doing

  • Your blog is 5+ years old or has content from multiple authors/editors
  • You’ve moved between themes or page builders over the years
  • You see weird spacing, headings out of order, or “copied from Word” junk
  • SEO is plateaued and you want the tech basics buttoned up
  • You want a cleaner base before a redesign

Risk management: humans stay in control

AI proposes changes. Humans approve them. Every action is tracked. If we don’t like an edit, we reject it or tweak it in seconds. That’s the whole game: speed from AI, judgment from people.

The business case (quick math)

  • Hand-cleaning a single old post can take 10–20 minutes.
  • At scale, that’s dozens of hours (or more) your team never has.
  • Our system gets you consistent, logged, human-approved cleanups at a fraction of the time and cost—without interrupting your team.

Want this for your site?

We’ll run a pilot on 5 posts: you’ll see the before/after, approve or reject in the dashboard, and decide if you want the full batch.

If your content is an asset (and it is), this is an easy win: faster site, cleaner experience, better SEO hygiene—without a rewrite.
